Fort Smith Home Sales on Track for Best Year Since 2007
As we move into the second half of the year, sales of single-family homes in Fort Smith are on track to outstrip the total for 2015 – and that number was very high compared with past years.
There are a lot of reasons people are choosing to buy homes here, and we’re glad they are as we look for a great second half. Through the first seven months of 2016, 462 homes in all price ranges have been sold, making an average of 66 per month. Last year’s 715 sales averaged to 59.5 per month.
We’re beating all the recent years
Both of these years are great for sellers and buyers, but what’s even greater is how the numbers stack up against recent years. Since the economic disaster began in earnest in 2008, no year has seen more sales than 2015 – and likely 2016. You have to go way back to 2007, when there were 778 sales – to beat 2015 and the even higher total we expect this year. In fact, we wouldn’t be surprised if 2016 passed 2007!
All of which means the “recovery” that everybody has been talking about is over, because we’ve gone beyond it, at least in terms of home-sales activity. Since 2011, when we hit the low sales figure for the decade of 601, things have been looking consistently good.
And Nick and I are doing everything we can to make 2016 look even better. If you’re in the market to sell, we’ll get you into the market where people are buying. Call me at (479) 739-2333.
